Daily Prayer for March 2

Hope Revived
The promise of springtime gives hope to a life turned upside down. Her husband of 38 years had died, and she couldn’t overcome the grief that had settled down into depression. The promise of springtime called to her that morning, and taking her coffee outside she sat on her patio. Buds were popping out on the trees, birds were singing a joyful song, tulips and jonquils were reaching to the skies. Suddenly, she felt springtime come alive within her, and she asked the Lord to give her the courage to let go of her sorrow. Taking a deep breath, she stood up with a desire to get dressed up and drive around the neighborhood. Little did she know that God had provided a way of escape for her. For the first time she noticed the nursing home with the beautiful gardens only a few blocks from her house. She stopped, went inside and saw the needs of others; many of the residents appeared lonely and depressed. She talked with the director, offering to make regular visits to read or just listen and cheer up those residents who seemed so lonely. As she blessed others, her joy was returned to her and today she works at the nursing home where she volunteered to be a blessing to others. She said, “I still miss my husband, but I no longer grieve.” She is a joyous woman of God spreading sunshine wherever she goes. You are blessed to be a blessing!

PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus, I shall go to all to whom you send me, and whatever you command me, I shall speak. I will not be afraid of their faces, for you are with me to deliver me. Whenever I feel afraid, I will trust in you. I will praise Your Word, in you I have put my trust; I will not fear, what can man do to me? You have spoken, and my faith is in you. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Amen.
