Promotion
Edward had devoted 35 years of his life to a southern utility company, and intended to stay there until his retirement. His good reputation became known throughout the organization after he was promoted to management; his diligence and hard work had been rewarded many times. In spite of his excellent work record the promotions stopped, while others with less experience were advancing. He rejoiced with them when they received promotions for which he was better qualified. Rather than becoming bitter, he remained loyal, even helping those who had once worked for him. Another promotion did come but not in the manner he expected. He was offered a position with a another company that far exceeded his expectations. The promotion had come from the north. Promotion may not come when you want it to, but it will come if you remain faithful.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, according to your Word promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. God, you are the judge: you put down one person, and set up another. I’m content to be myself so that I will become more than myself. I choose being humble and reverent toward you, Lord, and you will make me both wise and honored in the name of Jesus. I write mercy and truth upon the tablets of my heart, and you cause me to find favor with God and with man. Thank you for my promotion that comes from the north at your bidding that I might fulfill my destiny. Amen.

Employment
Employment isn’t just about earning a salary. First of all you are a representative of God in the workplace. One man who was out of work wanted our ministry to pray that he would not have to start his new business at the bottom, but would have only top-money-making accounts. You have to be willing to work at the small things and earn the respect, favor and trust of employers and/or clients. Let your eye be single, and work with all your heart as you would for Christ [Himself]. Doors of opportunity will open, and promotion will come as you keep the proper attitude of service. Be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides], and do your job to the best of your ability.

PRAYER:

Father, I come before You asking You to send forth Your ministering spirits to open doors of employment for me. I am strong and will not give up, for my work will be rewarded. As a son/daughter of God, I purpose to walk uprightly, commanding the respect of the outside world, being self-supporting, dependent on nobody and having need of nothing for You, Father, supply to the fullest my every need. Thank You for opening doors of employment in the name of Jesus. Amen

Power to Get Wealth
Responsibilities can become very heavy, and carrying the stress of making a living sometimes crashes in on you. You may even wish to run away. Have you become encumbered with simply making it through the day? Are you weighed down with the cares of the business, and no matter had hard you work, you feel overwhelmed? Is stress robbing you of quality time with the Father-God and your family? You need the peace of mind and heart that passes all understanding. Shape all your worries into prayer and make your requests known to God with thanksgiving. I encourage you to schedule time to meet with the heavenly Father who loves you as much as he loves Jesus, take care of your health and spend quality time with your family. They need to know that you are present and want to be with them. It is God, who gives you the power to get wealth, and he has sent the Holy Spirit to help you, counsel you, and give you guidance, and the peace of God will act as umpire in all your decisions.

PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus, I cast all my cares, worries and concerns over on you, my Lord. I am nor sufficient unto myself, but you are my sufficiency, and I will remember you, my Lord, my God, for you give me the power to get wealth, that you may establish your covenant. Out of the abundance of my heart I shall say, “Let the Lord be magnified, who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” I shall meditate on and talk of your righteousness, rightness and justice, and my reason for praising you all the day long. Amen.

Meditation Brings Forth Fruit
God wants you to have success in every area of your life. There are spiritual laws that will govern earthly laws if you put them to work. The law of sowing and reaping can be studied while walking through your flower garden or driving through the countryside. When one seed is planted in good soil it will produce many times more. I encourage you to put your sanctified (set apart unto God) imagination to work and meditate on God’s Word concerning finances, healing, relationships, walking in love, following after peace, developing the fruit of the spirit described in Galatians 5. Meditate on things that are worthy of reverence, honorable and seemly, just, pure, lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]. As a man thinks in his heart so is he.

PRAYER:
This is the day the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it! My delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on Your law I habitually meditate (ponder and study) by day and by night. Then I shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water; ready to bring forth fruit in my season; my leaf shall not fade or wither, and everything I do shall prosper and come to maturity. Amen

Prosperity of the Soul
Unless your soul prospers, you will not enjoy physical, mental and spiritual health, the soul must prosper. This is the seat of the mind, will and emotions. If you grew up in a religious setting you will probably have to change your view of prosperity. Religion says poverty is holy, but the Bible teaches otherwise. While it is true that the love of money is the root of all evil, it is not evil to have money. The Lord gives the power to get wealth, and he desires that you experience financial success. The soul has to be prepared for financial success; your character must be shaped by godly principles. Greed must be overturned by generosity; you are blessed to bless others. With wealth comes responsibility; wealth gives you the ability to help those who are in need. For God so loved the world that he gave. Let’s imitate our Father-God; He loves a prompt-to-do-it joyous giver!

PRAYER:
Father, it is your desire that I prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. In the name of Jesus, I put off the old man with its wrong attitudes and behaviors, and put on the new man created in righteousness. I receive and welcome the Word that contains the power to save my soul— to root out strongholds that are contrary to the Truth. I will diligently obey the message; being a doer of the Word and not merely a listener. Thank You for helping me overcome wrong ideas about financial freedom. I will ever be humbly grateful and one with you as I experience financial success in the name of Jesus. Amen

Desiring to be Married
There is nothing wrong with having a desire to marry. Have you asked God to reveal his plan for your life, or are you feeling desperate? Desperation originates in selfishness and self-centeredness. Many singles that I talk with are convinced that they will not be happy until they are married. I have unmarried friends who have proven this isn’t true. You can be content and enjoy life even now while you trust God to lead you in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake; you are his workmanship. The choice is yours – you can rely on the Holy Spirit to counsel and guide you or you can do it your way. Unfortunately, religion may look at a single man or woman as incomplete, but this is a lie! If you are in Christ you are complete in him. Let patience have her perfect work as you seek to do and lead a life of purity and holiness.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for sending Jesus. In Him all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and I have been given fullness of the God head in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. My completeness or fulfillment is not in a mate, but in Christ Jesus, my Lord. I am complete in Him. I desire a Christian mate, and pray for Your will to be done in my life. Amen

Peace in a Troubled Marriage
They email, they write, they call asking for prayer. A spouse, who may or may not be abusive, refuses to work, and is on drugs and/or has left and is now living with someone else – and the list goes on. More often than not they want us to pray that the mate will stop his addictions and/or return home. If only they could see beyond the present circumstances. Circumstances are temporal and subject to change; that which is eternal will never change. What does this mean in a troubled marriage? It means that the mate, who is born again, must hold up a pattern of right behavior in an unfortunate marriage. Not all marriages are made in heaven. Let go of obsessive thinking and compulsive behavior, let go of a victim mentality and do not allow this situation push you into spiritual shipwreck. Look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith. F.B. Meyer writes: do not step down to the level of your circumstances, but lift them to your own high calling in Christ. (Commentary, Amplified Bible, page 350)

PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that you will give _____ direction and the grace to obey you in all things. I use the keys You have given me, and bind the minds of this husband and wife to the mind of Christ, their wills to the will of God and their emotions to the control of the Holy Spirit. I loose wrong attitudes from them, destroy the power of all cutting, backbiting and profane talk. I pray that they will become gentle with one another, sensitive; forgiving one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave them in the name of Jesus. If one refuses to obey your Word, then Lord have mercy on his/her soul, and bring him/her to repentance. Your grace is sufficient as the born again spouse seeks to do your will for the good of his/her family. Amen

Growing Up
The strident voice over the phone proclaimed her maturity; in the next breath called me immature. Refusing to get caught up in her accusations and pain,I was able to remain calm and wait on the counsel of the Holy Spirit. My desire is to be ever learning, growing and achieving. As children of God we are to take responsibility for our own feelings and behavior. Growing up is a process of learning to walk in love with one another. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Your priorities change; your everyday-going-to-work attitude gives way to a glad heart and joyous spirit. You can become a safe place for others who are looking for hope and a way out of their situations.(Read Ephesians 4:15)

PRAYER:
Father, I affirm the Lordship of Jesus over my relationships. When I was a child, I talked, thought and reasoned like a child. I am done with childish ways and have put them aside. The blood of Christ, who offered himself without spot to You, Father, purges my conscience from dead works of selfishness, agitating passions and moral conflicts. Holy Spirit, help me grow up in every way, speaking truly, dealing truly and living truly. Jesus is Lord over my spirit, soul and body. Amen

Forgiving Others
Their marriage was in turmoil. The wife called to tell me about the trap she had set for her husband, and when he reacted, she had him arrested. They were divorced and his anger and unforgiveness turned to bitterness. This ex-husband who had a heart for God did not escape the presence of the Holy Spirit who convicted and convinced him of sin, righteousness and judgment. Two years later he decided to forgive his ex-wife and let go of the past. A sense of peace filled his soul as the unforgiveness and bitterness drained away. Although he has never remarried, he is always happy and always speaks of others with kindness. This man of great valor is able to talk with his ex-wife without malice or spite. Forgiving others is a decision, not a feeling. If you decided to forgive, but the feelings and thoughts persist ask the Holy Spirit to uncover the origin of your feelings/thoughts of unforgiveness. Just as God helped this ex-husband he will help you analyze and resolve your feelings/thoughts of unforgiveness until you are filled with Light.

PRAYER:

Father, I thank you for choosing me before the foundation of the world. I receive your Word that says that I am holy and without blame. As your dearly beloved child, I clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. I bear with others and forgive whatever grievances I may have against them. I forgive as the Lord forgives me. Over all these virtues, I put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Amen

Children at School
Certain people in the United States have worked hard to remove God from school systems, and we wonder why our schools are no longer safe. There was a time when we sent our children off to school knowing that they would be watched over carefully by school personnel. At the beginning of each day they heard a prayer and scripture reading, and they pledged allegiance to our country’s flag. The times have changed, and our children at school need our prayers of protection more than ever before. (Pray Psalm 91 for your children’s protection.) Let us unite in prayer for our school systems asking God for godly teachers, school counselors, coaches, and principles. Enjoy your children and nurture them, build them up according to the purpose and plan of God. It is your responsibility to pray for your children, ask God for wisdom and train your child/children in the way he is to go.

PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, help me pray effectively for our children at school. Father, I ask you to protect our children who attend school pursuing their education and training. In the name of Jesus, I bind their steps to paths of righteousness knowing that You are effectually at work in them, creating in them the power and desire to please You. They are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. I pray that they will find favor, good understanding and high esteem in the sight of God, their teachers and classmates. Amen.
