Choose The Way of Truth

April 6, 2007

Many years I searched for truth that would free me from the fears that tormented me. I read everything from self-help books to romance novels and the classics. I turned over many new leaves thinking that at last I had found a truth that would change my life. When Truth came to me, I discovered that Truth is a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ. You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free. If you are unhappy with your life, and seeking for change I encourage you to choose the Way of Life. Jesus said, If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you (John 15:7 RSV).

PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus I ask You to preserve my life according to Your word. I recounted my ways and You answered me; teach me Your decrees. Let me understand the teaching of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders. Strengthen me according to Your word. Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me through Your law. I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on Your laws. I hold fast to Your statutes, O LORD; do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of Your commands, for You have set my heart free. You are awesome and I praise You, my Redeemer and Friend. Amen

Communion

April 5, 2007

When you take the bread and the cup of Jesus Christ you are signifying your union with Him. Do you know this Jesus or do you just know about Him? After He ascended to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to bring you into an intimate relationship with the Father-God. Jesus is the way to the Father, and the Holy Spirit is your Teacher and Guide. For the believer prayer and Bible reading can be and should be times of exchanging information. You have the privilege of becoming intimately acquainted with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit–the Three in One. Acknowledge the Holy Spirit, take time to communicate with Him. He will take the Word of God and teach you all things that pertain unto life and godliness. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen (2 Cor 13:14).

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, I am looking and listening, and I am in the spirit. You have knocked and I have opened the door. Come into my heart and let us eat of the living bread and drink from the fountain that never runs dry. Today, I rejoice in You and I am exceedingly glad. Glory and honor belong to You, my Redeemer, my Elder Brother, my Lord. It is no longer I that lives, but Christ who lives in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God. My beloved is mine and I am His. Amen.

Morning Prayer

April 4, 2007

The mother of five small children wanted time to be alone with the Lord. Her early morning shower became her sanctuary where she met with the Father. A grandmother whose husband was retired yearned for a time of solitude to be with her Father. This grandmother arose at 5:00 each morning to pray while her husband went jogging. You can find time to pray for your family. Build a canopy of prayerful praise over your spouse, children and grandchildren each morning before the day begins. God is watching over His word to perform it.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, it is into Your keeping that I place my family—my parents, spouse, children and grandchildren—knowing that You are able to keep that which I commit to You against that day. Thank you for the angels that You’ve commanded to guard my family and me so that we will not strike our foot against a stone. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Amen

Prayer to Begin the Day

April 3, 2007

The mother warned everyone not to talk to her before she had her coffee. But now that their son had started to school she felt bad sending him and her husband off without a smile or pleasant word. How could she change? She had never been a morning person. She remembered her dad who said when you wake up, wake up all over; spirit, soul and body. So she decided to at least act pleasant each morning as she prepared breakfast, and helped her son get ready for school. She made a decision to have happy thoughts and praise God before she even got out of bed each morning, and to her surprise she learned that every day could begin with a smile, a glad heart and a happy, joyous spirit.

Prayer:
Father, I come before You rejoicing, for this is the day that You have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. To obey is better than sacrifice, so I am making a decision to submit to Your will today, that my plans and purposes may be conducted in a manner that will bring honor and glory to You. Cause me to be spiritually and mentally alert in this time of meditation and prayer, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Assignments for April 1-30, 2007

April 2, 2007

Dear Global Prayer Partner, Even though Easter has pagan roots, we have chosen to turn it into a day of rejoicing. For the Church Easter is about the resurrection of our risen Lord. Rejoice! And again I say, Rejoice! Jesus is alive! He is the Way to God the Father. The purpose of the Cross was to redeem mankind out of every tribe and nation, and restore them to right relationship with the Heavenly Father. As believers we have access to the Throne of Grace; there we obtain mercy and grace to help us and others. In that place before the Father we can ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8).For more information on the following continents, nations and tribes go to http://www.gmi.org/ow/. The following is from Operation World 21st Century Edition by Patrick Johnstone and Jason Mandryk.

Prayer Assignments for April 1-30, 2007

1-9 China (Asia) Pray for the people of China with its many regions and provinces. Each day you may read about the prayer needs of these areas at http://www.gmi.org/ow/.

10-11 Colombia (Latin America) Bruce Olson and the Motilone believers are the key to fulfilling the Great Commission in this area of the world. Jesus Christ has commanded us to go and “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20). We have an exciting opportunity to reach half a million people who have become miraculously open to the gospel in the past three years. (Missions Report: Bruce Olson’s and Colombia’s Motilone Indians by Jay Rogers 10/92)

You will be blessed by reading Bruchko and the Motilone Miracle by Bruce Olson and James L. Lund

12 Comoro Islands and Mayotte (Africa) they have a colorful history of sultans and soothsayers, plantation owners and eloping princesses. Open Christian witness is forbidden, so intercede for the opening of this land for God’s Word.

13-15 Congo and Congo-DRC (Africa) Pray for revival and restoration of the Church, for God-fearing people to be appointed to positions of national leadership.

16 Cook Islands (Pacific) It is reported that years of missionary zeal haven’t dimmed the magical power of this place. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict and convince of sin, righteousness and judgment, and that the Lord of Harvest will send forth laborers into this land.

17 Costa Rica (Latin America) Pray for revival, and an outpouring of the Spirit of God so that love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that Christian believers may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:9-11).

18 Côte d’Ivoire (Africa) Pray that Christian denominations may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that the Father sent Jesus and has loved them even as the Father loved Him (John 17:23). Islam is prevalent in this country. We decree that God will be exalted in this nation! He will be exalted in the earth!

19 Croatia (Europe) Pray that the light of the Gospel will be unveiled to those who are perishing, and shine in hearts to give them the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.. In the name of Jesus break all satanic bondages and cultural blindness that prevent people from repentance and personal faith in Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:3-6)

20 Cuba (Latin America) The persecution of Christians has been severe. Pray for continued courage and fortitude for believers, and for complete religious freedom. Lord, observe the threats of the enemy and grant to Your bond servants [full freedom] to declare Your message fearlessly, while You stretch out Your hand to cure and to perform signs and wonders through the authority and by the power of the name of Your holy Child and Servant Jesus (Acts 4:29-30).

Pray that the barriers of history, theology, prejudice and fear may be removed, for all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth (I Timothy 2:4).

22 Czech Republic (Europe) Pray for God’ Spirit to sweep through the Catholic Church and awaken these millions to the living reality of Christ. May they want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.(Philippians 3:10).

23 Denmark (Europe) Denmark needs a fresh visitation from God. Pray that the people will repent (change their minds and purposes); turn around and return [to God], that their sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord; have a fresh visitation from God (Acts 3:19).

24 Djibouti (Africa) Pray for the long-awaited spiritual breakthroughs; every advance has been strongly contested by the enemy of souls. The Islamist voice gets louder as the economic situation declines. Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world! All things are possible with God, and to him who believes!

25 Dominica & Dominican Republic (Latin America) Pray that they will be God-fearing, learning [in their experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [may their lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him]; pray they will take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let their lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reproveand convict the unsaved (Ephesians 5:10-11).

26 Ecuador (Latin America) Pray that God-called intercessors will awaken and make requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for everyone– for kings and all those in authority, that the people may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:1-4).

27-29 Egypt (Africa) Pray that Christians will withstand satan; remain firm in faith [against his onset-rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined] (1 Peter 5:9); pray for the divine protection of Muslim-background believers (Psalm 91), and the ending of discriminatory laws and the exclusion of Christians from government posts and positions of influence.

30 El Salvador (Latin America) Pray that the Christians of this nation will live as becomes them] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because they love one another. May they be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3).

My prayer for you: You are strong in the Lord and the power of His might. I pray that you will not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season you shall reap, if you do not loosen and relax your courage and faint (Galatians 6:11). Our God is an awesome God!

I would love to hear from you.

Love,

Accepted by God

April 2, 2007

The fear of rejection controlled the young woman, and she kept her eyes averted or looked away before anyone at church could speak to her. She always assumed they really didn’t want to speak or they would at least try to get her attention. This fear haunted her until the day she heard the Good News! God chose her before the foundation of the world, and she had been accepted in the Beloved! God’s love began to drive away the fear, and over time the Lord became her confidence. She held her head high, speaking to others rather than waiting for them to speak to her. God gave her a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Today she is a blessing to many, especially to those who are lonely and hurting.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing the work of my hands. I can walk confidently fulfilling my destiny because You love, accept and approve of me. I am strong even though I feel weak, and my works shall be rewarded. I am steadfast, never giving up in the face of adversity. Because I am Your child and a partaker of Your divine nature, I will stand firm until Your will prevails and satan’s plans have been demolished. In the name of Jesus, I affirm Your love for me. Amen

How awesome is our God! The Living Bible says that He made you so wonderfully complex! Amazing! He understands and knows your DNA, the 30 trillion cells that make up your body! He formed every organ to serve you well all the days of your life. You and your DNA are you and you vibrate with divine energy and love. You are His marvelous workmanship; He approves of you! The Father saw you before you were born and scheduled each day of your life before you began to breathe. Every day was recorded in His book! God, the Creator of the universe, chose you, and you are precious to Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You knit me together in my mother’s womb, knew me, and approved of me even before I was born. Wonderful are Your works, and I hold fast to this knowledge. I will not keep silent, but bring the Good News of relief and deliverance to others who do not know You. I was born for such a time as this to fulfill my destiny in the Kingdom of God. I take my place a member of the Body of Christ. Thank You for loving me, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
